Jay M. Ellenby
President, Safe Harbors Travel Group
Jay Ellenby's passion for innovation and deep commitment to customer service
make him a respected leader in the travel industry. This combined "high-tech,
high-touch" approach has helped Safe Harbors Travel Group become a national
leader in full-service global travel management. Founded in 1985, Safe Harbors
is headquartered in Baltimore and has offices throughout the U.S.
Safe Harbors continues to thrive because Ellenby has always focused on helping
customers manage their travel budgets as efficiently and cost-effectively as
possible, regardless of fluctuations in the marketplace. He is a keen observer
of the business travel industry, with a particular understanding of airlines,
especially low-cost carriers.
Ellenby first explored the world aboard a naval aircraft carrier. He
subsequently applied his technological skill and love of travel at Safe Harbors,
which he joined in 1990. In addition to streamlining the firm's online booking
engines, Ellenby devised ways to offer enhanced online client account services,
such as trend analysis and cost management tools.
Ellenby has a B.S in management and marketing from Widener University. He is
president of the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) Central Atlantic
Chapter, and a board member of Commonwealth Business Travel Group (CBTG). He
serves on multiple advisory boards.
A resident of Bel Air, Maryland, Ellenby enjoys coaching wrestling and spending
time with his family.
