Northeast Could Experience Fewer Delays

Delayed flights are something that business travelers have become accustomed to. One area known for delays and business traveler frustration is the Northeast. You may be surprised to learn that while the number of flights has increased significantly, the airspace configuration in the Northeast remains the same as it was in 1960. Well, soon that may be changing and will hopefully lead to fewer delays at Philadelphia, New York and New Jersey.

By combining high and low altitude routes, the new configuration plan will allow for more efficient departures and arrivals. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) estimates that delays could be cut by as much as 12 million minutes.

A final decision should come from the FAA this summer.
